Containing a wide variety of beautiful 19th and 20th century residential homes, built by many of the most prominent Philadelphia architects, Chestnut Hill became a part of the City of Philadelphia in 1854. There is great shopping on the cobblestone streets of Germantown Avenue, where one can find many local boutiques. If eating is your passion, visit the many local restaurants and pubs. Chestnut Hill is home to Chestnut Hill College and the locals, known as “Hillers” have many well-known private schools to which to send their children, including Chestnut Hill Academy and the Springside School. Historically, the actress Grace Kelly once called Chestnut Hill home.
